About Us

The GWC's calendar year is divided into two seasons.  The first season is run during the fall and winter and emphasizes Folkstyle  wrestling.  Folkstyle wrestling is the style one sees in high school and college competition.  The second season is run through the spring and summer and emphasizes the international styles of wrestling, Freestyle and Greco Roman.  Freestyle and Greco Roman are the styles one sees in the Olympics and all other international competitions.

The cost of the club is $90, which is used to purchase an AAU card and a USA card.  Cards are purchased for insurance purposes and required for tournament entry.

GWC Practices

The club is divided into groups with each group dependent upon age, weight and skill level.  The groups will be split so that practice plans and intensities are most beneficial for that particular group.  Ages for the Folk Style season range from grades Kindergarten through 8th.  Ages for the Freestyle and Greco Roman season range from Kindergarten through college.

GWC practices will be determined each season based on number of wrestlers, skill-level and ages.  Practices consist of warm-up, conditioning, technique, drilling and live wrestling.  Wrestlers are taugh both basic and advanced techniques.
